Carlo Papa
Strategic-corporate finance advisor in energy, climate and defense
Dr. Carlo Papa is an international expert, venture partner and strategic-corporate finance advisor in energy, climate and defense. He serves on the Board of Directors of Odysight.ai Inc., a NASDAQ-listed company, and chairs Odysight.ai EU as well as flyren Energy Group S.pA.. Previously, he served as Chief Economics Advisor at BRG and as a member of the Impact Advisory Board of SACE, supporting the integration of ESG frameworks into strategic planning and project development.
Dr. Papa is a Senior Fellow at the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI) at Columbia University and lectures regularly at institutions including ISPI, IRENA and Strathmore University. His work has contributed to leading scientific journals and international organizations, including the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, and he coauthored the first G20 climate atlas, Hybrid Metrics: Connecting Shared Value to Shareholder Value, and the World Meteorological Organization’s 2022 State of Climate Services: Energy. He initiated the Open African Power program, co-founded the African School of Regulation and participated in the Global Commission to End Energy Poverty.
Dr. Papa holds a BSc in Economics, an MSc in Finance, a PhD in Management Engineering, the TRIUM Global Executive MBA and a certificate in Climate Change and Energy from Harvard Kennedy School. He is actively involved in international think tank activities through organizations including the Aspen Institute, German Marshall Fund of the United States and Chatham House.
